Indigenous Stories: Land Gives Life

Join us for an informal conversation with Shaunna Morgan Siegers, an indigenous conservationist, teacher, and ethnobiologist.  With more than 20 years of research, Indigenous knowledge, and environmental science experience, Shaunna will share from her experiences and answer questions about the intersection of Indigenous cultures and nature. This is part of a series of Mentoring Lab Events sponsored by the Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance.

Wrongful Conviction Day Panel Discussion

Did you know? 21 Innocent Canadians have been exonerated since 1993.  Please join us for a panel discussion in support of exonerees and to bring attention to the injustices faced by the wrongfully convicted. Special guests will be William Mullins-Johnson (exoneree), David Milgaard (exoneree), and Kent Roach (University of Toronto, Faculty of Law). The discussion will be moderated by Carolyn Yule (University of Guelph, Criminal Justice and Public Policy professor). All are welcome to attend.

A Talk by Rosanne Marchesich Rosanne Marchesich is the head of the Emergency Response and Resilience Unit at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). She is a UofG alumnus with over 20 years of work experience at the UN. In this talk, she will address the challenge of combining peacebuilding activities and food security assistance in humanitarian relief operations and development projects.
