Hopper Lecture: Gandhi, Environmentalism, and the World Today

Join us for a lecture by writer and historian Ramachandra Guha. Guha is the winner of the Fukuoka Prize for contributions to Asian studies. He is also the author of Times of London Book of the Decade, India After Gandhi.  Mahatma Gandhi is known for having led the Indian struggle for freedom, for promoting inter-faith harmony and for inventing the techniques of non-violent civil disobedience.

Into the Light: Eugenics and Education in Southern Ontario

You are invited to Into the Light: Eugenics and Education in Southern Ontario. The exhibition will be featured at the Guelph Civic Museum from September 14, 2019 to March 1, 2020. Museum Hours of operation are Tuesday – Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM and Fourth Fridays of each month until 9 PM. Admission is $6.00/person, and free on Fourth Fridays from 5 PM - 9 PM.

Gender Pronouns and Teaching Presentation and Discussion

Instructional Inclusivity 2019/2020 Seminar Series Office of Teaching and Learning  Presentation and Discussion GENDER PRONOUNS AND TEACHING June 28th, 1969. Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera (two trans women of colour, drag queens, LGBTQ activists and heroines) threw the first brick  and bottle during a police raid on the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. This ignited the Stonewall riots and ushered in the revolution that we now commemorate and celebrate each June as Pride.
