The Undergraduate Psychology Society is hosting a Suicide Awareness and Prevention Banquet. Dr. Candace Johnson is professor of Polical Science at the University of Guelph.  She has published widely on issues of maternal health, reproductive rights, health care policy, and gender politics.  She is the author of Maternal Transition: A North-South Politics of Pregnancy and Childbirth (Routledge 2016) and numerous articles in prestigious journals including Canadian Journal of Political Science, Polity, and Global Public Health.  In this lecture, she will examine the political implications of the Zika epidemic.
