Dan and Mary Lou Smoke are available at the Aboriginal Resource Centre to provide personal consultation, conversation, guidance and mentorship to First Nations, Métis & Inuit students and the campus community. Mary Lou is very knowledgeable about the arts and traditional indigenous knowledge systems. She has been singing traditionally in many sacred ceremonies and lodges throughout North America. She also possesses great wisdom for women's teachings.

With an emphasis on Venezuela, Ecuador, and Bolivia, Donald Kingsbury (U of T) explores the political turbulence in the developing world as a result of the global north's call for a post-carbon capitalism.  Dr. Kingsbury will discuss how economic crises, protests, and the reemergence of regional and domestic right wing politics pose new challenges for social missions and ecological promises of Latin America's Pink Tide. 

Members of College Royal Society will put in a float for the Guelph Santa Clause parade to promote College Royal for the upcoming year! We enter the same float in the parade each year while changing the theme of the float every year! This is a great time to get executive involved and mingling, all while spreading the word of College Royal! We will be handing out candy canes (not throwing) and will be adhering to the rules and regulations of the Guelph Santa Clause Parade.

Smith (Ryerson University) will explain how the Crown permeates other institutions of Parliament, and how it is a crucial – and misunderstood – part of Canada’s stable, successful democracy.

The Harshman Lecture Series is a speaker series presented by the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition in honour of the late Dr. J. P. Harshman and in recognition of the contributions of the Harshman Foundation. The Lecture Series are free, community wide events, with speakers discussing issues relevant to families.  This year, we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Kathy Kortes-Miller, as Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work and the Palliative Care Research Lead at the Centre for Education and Research on Aging and Health at Lakehead University. 

Come join the political science society every other tuesday at 5:30 and hangout with the society's executive members over free pizza!! 

An academic and social event for students and faculty within the CJPP program. There will be guests speakers giving career guidance for students followed by a networking session for students to interact with faculty in the program.
