Despite a range of policies, promises, and protections, housing for people with disabilities—and specifically that considers the distinct experiences of women and gender-diverse people with disabilities—remains deeply inadequate in Ontario and across the country. People with disabilities face disproportionate rates of homelessness, housing insecurity, and housing inadequacy, and women with disabilities are especially likely to experience homelessness because of violence or abuse.
