This webinar is part of a collaborative teaching and learning series from the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences (CSAHS) Hub for Teaching and Learning Excellence (“The Hub”) and the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics (LANG) Learning and Teaching Advisory Board.

This session will explore the importance of using a learner-centred approach when designing assessments, as well as creative ways of expanding upon traditional assessment techniques that can be applied in different learning environments and class sizes. In addition, this session will discuss and explore important factors and key considerations instructors can consider as they make decisions on how best to assess student learning in their course.

By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Explore best practices for an evidence informed approach to assessment design
  • Examine approaches for designing assessments that support student learning and development
  • Evaluate tangible strategies for creating assessments that are efficient, effective, and scalable
