Suicide Awareness and Prevention Banquet

The Undergraduate Psychology Society is hosting a Suicide Awareness and Prevention Banquet. This semi-formal event will consist of a 3 course meal, raffles, and engaging speakers promoting awareness and discussion about suicide ideation on and off campus.  Tickets can always be purchased by contacting mjames02@mail.uoguelph.ca until Feb 19th, 2017. All students, staff, faculty, friends, loved ones, are welcome to attend. We are all in this together.

Structural Violence, Stratified Reproduction, and the Politics of the Zika Virus

Dr. Candace Johnson is professor of Polical Science at the University of Guelph.  She has published widely on issues of maternal health, reproductive rights, health care policy, and gender politics.  She is the author of Maternal Transition: A North-South Politics of Pregnancy and Childbirth (Routledge 2016) and numerous articles in prestigious journals including Canadian Journal of Political Science, Polity, and Global Public Health.  In this lecture, she will examine the political implications of the Zika epidemic.
