Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance - Mary Granskou

Mary Granskou Appointed as third Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance

Mary Granskou was appointed as the third Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance. During her time on campus, Mary carried out a busy program of activities with a focus on the power of partnerships for environmental change. Mary's programming included leading seminars with expert speaker panels, guest lecturing in classes, assisting graduate students and researchers, and providing general mentoring to students interested in careers concerning the environment and sustainability.

Mary has served nearly 30 years as an advisor and hands-on expert in the environment and sustainability fields. Former roles range from policy advisor in the Prime Minister’s office to executive director of a national environmental group. Now a consultant, she helps cross-sector partnerships navigate their way to success and is a big believer that there’s always a solution. She has decades of experience working with governments, Indigenous leaders, NGOs, industry, and scientists.

The Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance is funded through a generous endowment from the Kinross Gold Corporation.
