Join us in training the next generation of mental health professionals.

Canadian children, youth, adults, and families face substantial mental health challenges. Critically, 70% of adults trace the origins of their issues to childhood and in Canada 1.2 million children and youth are affected by mental health difficulties.

The University of Guelph is addressing the societal need to improve mental health and plays an integral role in developing new Psychotherapists and Psychologists.

The Maplewoods Centre for Family Therapy and Child Psychology is one of the largest community-facing centres at the University of Guelph. Maplewoods is training students to become future leaders in mental health, serving the mental health needs of community members, and promoting interdisciplinary clinical research partnerships.

Funding Maplewoods

The University of Guelph is embarking on a fundraising campaign supporting the three critical areas of teaching, research and facilities. There is clear need for cutting-edge psychological and therapeutic training focused on children, youth, couples and families. The Mental Health Commission of Canada identified prevention and early intervention as keys to addressing the mental health challenges of Canadians.

The Maplewoods Centre for Family Therapy and Child Psychology at the University of Guelph and our partners can play a key role in researching new treatments and training new mental health professionals.

Opportunities for support include student support, the assessment fund, and naming opportunities for the renovated space. To make a donation, or to discuss how your support can transform the Maplewoods Centre, contact our Alumni and Development team:
