IN CELEBRATION OF JOHN GALT DAY, the Old Stone Churches, and the Guelph Historical Society, are hosting the Tenth Annual John Galt Sunday Kirking. Civic leaders will be “kirked” to the front door of St. James. “Kirking” is a Scottish ceremonial parade of dignitaries led by a piper as a prelude to a civic church service.

To celebrate Canada at 150 and Guelph at 190, Guelph Museums presents Fourth Friday: Oh Canada Concert Series. Kick off your weekend with a performance by Ian Bell + Fiddler! On the Fourth Friday of the month, Guelph Museums offers free admission to the Guelph Civic Museum after 5 PM, and performance at 7 and 8 PM. Enjoy the drive-in experience minus the car. Join us for free family-friendly movies shown on a giant screen in Market Square. Bring your own lawn chairs and some blankets too. Seating for Movies in the Square is on a first-come, first-served basis. In the case of inclement weather, screenings will move inside to the City Hall Galleria.

You don't have to be a grannie to help! Grandmothers and Friends for Africa (GAFFA) raises funds to support The Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF). SLF works in Africa with community-level organizations that are turning the tide of HIV/AIDS by providing care and support to women, orphans, grandmothers, and people living with HIV and AIDS.
