COVID-19 + Food Security: The Intersection

June 9th at 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Register now [2]

Before COVID-19 arrived on the scene, food security was already an issue in our communities and around the world. How has the pandemic exacerbated this problem, and where do we go next to address them both?

Please join us on June 9th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm for the first live instalment of our video and webinar series to listen and engage. During the webinar, registrants will also have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A. With the kick-off of the Growing Stronger project (https://arrellfoodinstitute.ca/growing-stronger/), what we hear from the speakers and from you will be part of the evidence collected to help shape policy for Canada’s food system in the future.

Featured speakers:

Gwen Chapman [3], Dean, College of Social & Applied Human Sciences (moderator)
Leticia Deawuo [4], Director, Black Creek Community Farm
Elizabeth Finnis [5], Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Sociology & Anthropology
Robert Friendship [6], Professor, Department of Population Medicine
Arvinder Pannu [7], MSc Candidate, Capacity Development and Extension Program
