Around the world, women make up half of all farmers, but they are marginalized in farm ownership, decision making and access to life-changing agricultural technology. The purpose of this session is to explore new ideas and opportunities for how to enhance visibility of young female farmers around the world and tap the enormous potential they offer for a sustainable farming future. Panelists Aprilia Ambarwati [2] and Charina Chazali from AKATIGA Center of Social Analysis, Pan Lu [3] of China Agricultural University, Sudha Narayanan [4] of Indira Gandhi Institute for Development Research, and Brianne Besley [5] from Beslea Farms Ltd., along with Sharada Srinivasan [6] from the University of Guelph, will share research and perspectives from across the globe.
