Our own identities have a huge impact our daily experiences and our interactions in the world. This workshop will provide the opportunity for participants explore various aspects of their identities - both salient and hidden – to have a better understanding of how one's identities affect interactions with others, to develop a sense of identity within systems of power and privilege in the local and campus community, and to engage more meaningfully and improve work with students and colleagues.
This workshop is relevant for a range of participants: those who have face-to-face contact with students, those developing policies that will affect the access and use of student services, or those interested in exploring how to improve their awareness and knowledge of multicultural competency development.
