What does real justice look like for individuals and communities?

Join us for an engaging discussion that centres on the lived experiences of individuals within the justice system, focusing on justice, rehabilitation, and community safety. This event will explore critical questions such as: What does meaningful justice look like? Our conversation will delve into the harmful impacts of incarceration, the significant challenges faced by those re-entering society, and the persistent gaps in current support systems. By drawing attention to these issues, we will also highlight the essential role communities play in supporting reintegration and fostering collective safety.

Featuring guest speakers Amelia Marfisi from Community Justice Initiatives (CJI) and Spencer St. Amand, a formerly incarcerated trans community advocate, this session offers valuable insights from both practitioners and those with lived experience. Participants are invited to reflect on how community-driven approaches can create more inclusive, just, and safe environments for all.
