Guest speaker Dr. Bonny Ibhawoh

 

Dr. Bonny Ibhawoh

Dr. Bonny Ibhawoh is the Vice-Provost for International Affairs at McMaster University. He is a Professor and the Senator William McMaster Chair in Global Human Rights at McMaster University, Canada. He is also an Independent Expert-Rapporteur for the United Nations Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development. With extensive teaching experience across Africa, Europe, the United States, and Canada, Dr. Ibhawoh brings a global perspective to his work. He is the Project Director of Participedia, a global research network focused on public participation and democratic innovation, and the founding Director of the McMaster University Centre for Human Rights and Restorative Justice. Additionally, he leads the Confronting Atrocity Project, a transnational study of truth and reconciliation processes. Dr. Ibhawoh serves on the boards of several human rights organizations, including the Advisory Board of the Amnesty International Archives.
