Guest Speaker
Jamie Nelson, exoneree - Jamie Nelson was wrongfully convicted in the 1990s during a bitter child custody dispute with his ex-girlfriend. After a seven-day trial, he was convicted based on entirely false evidence presented by his ex-girlfriend’s friend. He was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison, during which time he maintained his innocence, was denied parole, and spent an extended period in solitary confinement. While he was in prison, his son was given up for adoption. Jamie faced many challenges upon his release, but one of the hardest was learning to live among the free once again. Hearing Jamie’s story directly from him is an opportunity you will not want to miss.
