Submitted by scoope04 on March 16, 2022 - 12:00am

Action Summit. Fostering community resilience for a sustainable Guelph.

On Monday, April 3, University of Guelph’s Attitudes and Climate Actions seminar students are hosting a sustainability-focused community forum entitled, “Action Summit: Fostering Community Resilience for a Sustainable Guelph." With remarks from Mayor Guthrie, MPP Mike Schreiner, and Kinross Chair Stephanie Cairns, we’ll hear from community partners about the work their respective organizations are doing.

This free event is a space to build connections, share ideas, and learn more about how different organizations in Guelph and broader community are tackling some of the complex sustainability issues we’re faced with today. We wish to inspire hope and leave attendees with practical actions they can use as we continue to work together in building a more sustainable future.

Welcoming guests from:

  • Guelph Coalition for Active Transportation
  • Ontario Farmland Trust
  • Climate Action
  • Wild Ontario
  • eMERGE Guelph
  • Guelph Family Health Team

The event will be available both as an in-person and virtual event.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. at the Arboretum, where participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a wildlife demonstration by Wild Ontario. At 7:00 p.m. we will be joined by our virtual guests for our welcome address from the City of Guelph's Mayor Guthrie, MPP Mike Schreiner and Kinross Chair Stephanie Cairns, followed by engaging presentations and discussion from our community partners highlighting their goals for a sustainable future for Guelph. Wrapping up our virtual event at around 8:45 p.m., we will continue our evening at the Arboretum with a chance to network with fellow attendees and community partners.

Registration is required - please register to attend [1].
